The 2BVA Series consists of single-stage, single-acting liquid ring vacuum pumps designed for reliable industrial process-vacuum applications. Using water as the standard operating liquid, the series is particularly suitable for handling air, wet gases and gas-vapour mixtures. The product range is available in multiple mechanical configurations. The 2BVA2 and 2BVA5 sub-series feature compact direct-coupled designs, while the 2BVA6 sub-series uses an intermediate support bracket and coupling between the pump and motor, providing improved mechanical support and reduced operating vibration. With an ultimate pressure down to 3300 Pa under specified test conditions, relatively low operating-liquid consumption and available cavitation-protection configurations, the 2BVA Series provides a compact and versatile solution for general industrial vacuum applications.

Working Principle

The 2BVA Series operates on the liquid-ring principle. An eccentrically mounted impeller rotates inside the pump chamber containing a controlled amount of operating liquid, typically water. Centrifugal force forms the operating liquid into a rotating liquid ring along the inner wall of the casing. Because the impeller and liquid ring are eccentric to each other, the spaces between adjacent impeller blades and the liquid ring continuously change in volume. As the chamber volume increases, gas is drawn into the pump. As the volume decreases, the gas is compressed and discharged through the outlet. The operating liquid also absorbs part of the heat generated during compression, resulting in relatively low gas-temperature rise and making the pump particularly suitable for handling wet gases and gas-vapour mixtures. Vacuum performance is influenced by the temperature and vapour pressure of the operating liquid. Lower operating-liquid temperatures generally improve achievable vacuum and pumping performance.

The 2BVF Series is the fully corrosion-resistant version of the 2BVA liquid ring vacuum pump range, designed for chemical process applications and other services where enhanced material resistance is required. The series is available in full 304 stainless steel and full 316 stainless steel configurations, providing reliable vacuum performance in compatible corrosive or aggressive process environments. The 2BVF Series shares the same mechanical configurations and performance characteristics as the standard 2BVA Series. The 2BVF2 and 2BVF5 sub-series feature compact direct-coupled designs, while the 2BVF6 sub-series uses an intermediate support bracket and coupling between the pump and motor for improved mechanical support and reduced operating vibration. Material selection should be confirmed according to the process medium, concentration, operating-liquid chemistry, temperature and actual operating conditions.
