The 2X Series is Zhongtian's traditional two-stage, belt-driven oil-lubricated rotary vane vacuum pump range, designed for robust industrial vacuum applications requiring deeper vacuum performance and flexible mechanical configuration. Two rotary vane pumping stages are arranged in series to provide deeper vacuum than conventional single-stage pumps, while the belt-driven arrangement separates the motor and pump for flexible motor matching and convenient mechanical maintenance. The series is particularly suited to vacuum impregnation, vacuum drying, industrial vacuum processing and backing service for compatible high-vacuum pumping systems.

Working Principle

The 2X Series operates on the two-stage oil-sealed rotary vane principle. Each pumping stage contains an eccentrically mounted rotor and sliding vanes that divide the pump chamber into variable-volume working spaces. As the rotor turns, increasing chamber volume draws gas into the first pumping stage. The trapped gas is then compressed and transferred through the interstage passage to the second stage. The second stage further compresses the gas before final discharge through the exhaust system. By arranging two rotary vane pumping stages in series, the pressure ratio is distributed between the two stages, allowing the pump to achieve substantially lower ultimate pressure than a conventional single-stage rotary vane pump. Vacuum oil provides lubrication, internal sealing and cooling throughout the pumping process.

Two-Stage Design

The 2X Series uses two rotary vane pumping stages arranged in series to achieve deeper vacuum performance. Gas passes sequentially through the two pumping stages before final discharge. This staged compression improves ultimate vacuum compared with conventional single-stage rotary vane pumps.

Belt-Driven Design

The motor and pump are connected through a belt-and-pulley transmission rather than a direct coupling. This arrangement separates the motor from the pump body and provides flexibility in motor selection, operating-speed matching and mechanical maintenance. The belt transmission also provides a degree of mechanical isolation between the motor and pump during operation.

Oil-Lubricated Design

Vacuum oil provides lubrication for moving components, seals internal clearances and helps remove heat generated during compression. The oil film between the rotor, vanes and pump chamber reduces internal gas leakage and supports stable deep-vacuum performance.

Backing Pump Application

The 2X Series can be used as a backing pump for compatible high-vacuum systems equipped with Roots boosters, diffusion pumps or other high-vacuum pumping stages. Final system performance depends on the complete vacuum-system configuration.

Operating Media

The 2X Series is primarily intended for pumping clean, dry and compatible non-corrosive gases. For applications involving condensable vapours, solvents, corrosive or hazardous media, operating conditions must be confirmed separately.

Clean Dry GasesNon-Corrosive Gases

*Ultimate pressure measured without gas ballast, with air at 20°C.

*Pump Speed refers to the pump rotor speed. Due to belt-driven transmission, motor speed differs from pump speed depending on pulley configuration.

*Pumping speed in L/s. Equivalent m³/h: 2 L/s = 7.2; 4 = 14.4; 8 = 28.8; 15 = 54; 30 = 108; 70 = 252; 100 = 360.
