The XMV Series consists of single-stage, oil-lubricated rotary vane vacuum pumps designed for low- and medium-vacuum industrial applications. An eccentrically mounted rotor and sliding vanes create continuously changing pumping chambers, while circulating vacuum oil provides lubrication, internal sealing and cooling during operation. The integrated oil-separation system separates oil from the discharged gas and returns the oil to the lubrication circuit, supporting stable industrial operation. With pumping speeds from 20 to 630 m³/h and ultimate pressure down to 10 Pa on selected models, the XMV Series covers a broad range of industrial vacuum requirements. A gas-ballast valve helps the pump handle limited amounts of condensable vapour under appropriate operating conditions, making the XMV Series suitable for general industrial vacuum applications where compact construction, reliable operation and convenient maintenance are required.
Working Principle
The XMV Series operates on the oil-sealed rotary vane principle. An eccentrically mounted rotor rotates inside the cylindrical pump chamber. Sliding vanes move radially in the rotor slots and remain in contact with the inner wall of the pump chamber, dividing the space between the rotor and housing into variable-volume working chambers. As the rotor turns, the volume of the chamber connected to the inlet increases, drawing gas into the pump. Continued rotation closes the chamber from the inlet and progressively reduces its volume, compressing the trapped gas. The compressed gas is discharged through the exhaust valve into the oil-separation chamber. Vacuum oil carried with the discharged gas is separated and returned to the lubrication circuit, while the separated gas is discharged through the exhaust outlet. Vacuum oil performs three important functions: Lubrication — Internal Sealing — Cooling.

35 photosOil-Lubricated Design
Vacuum oil circulates through the pump to lubricate moving components, seal internal clearances and absorb heat generated during compression. The oil-gas mixture discharged from the pumping chamber enters the oil separator, where the oil is separated and returned to the lubrication circuit.
Gas Ballast
The XMV Series is equipped with a gas-ballast valve to improve the handling of limited amounts of condensable vapour. By introducing a controlled amount of air into the compression chamber, the gas-ballast system helps reduce condensation of vapour inside the pump and helps protect the vacuum oil from contamination. When condensable vapours are present, proper warm-up and post-operation running procedures should be followed according to the operating instructions.
Integrated Oil Separation
The oil-gas mixture discharged from the pumping chamber enters an integrated oil-separation system. Oil is separated from the exhaust gas and returned to the lubrication circuit for reuse.
Air-Cooled Design
The XMV Series uses air cooling for convenient installation without an external cooling-water supply. Adequate ventilation and ambient-temperature control are important for reliable continuous operation.
Operating Media
The XMV Series is designed primarily for pumping air and compatible dry, non-corrosive gases. The standard pump should not be used for corrosive gases, flammable or explosive gases, or direct ingestion of liquids. For special process gas applications, contact Zhongtian for application review.
Service & Maintenance
Routine maintenance includes inspection and replacement of vacuum oil, oil filters, exhaust filters and inlet filtration components according to operating conditions and service intervals.
