The ZJ Series consists of standard Roots vacuum booster pumps designed to operate in combination with a backing pump. Two synchronized, non-contact rotors provide high pumping capacity and significantly increase system pumping speed, particularly in the medium-vacuum range. With nominal pumping speeds from 108 to 18,000 m³/h (30–5,000 L/s), the ZJ Series is suitable for chemical processing, vacuum coating, metallurgy, heat treatment, vacuum drying and other high-capacity industrial vacuum applications.

Working Principle

Two synchronized figure-eight-shaped rotors rotate in opposite directions inside a close-tolerance housing without contacting each other or the pump chamber. Gas entering the inlet is trapped between the rotors and housing and transported toward the exhaust as the rotors rotate. The ZJ Series operates without significant internal compression and is designed to work in combination with a backing pump. For standard ZJ configurations, the backing pump establishes the required pre-vacuum before the Roots booster is started.
