The ZJP Series consists of Roots vacuum booster pumps equipped with an integrated bypass valve for differential-pressure protection and simplified system start-up. Based on the proven Roots pumping principle, the bypass valve limits excessive pressure differential across the booster during initial evacuation and high-gas-load conditions. This allows the ZJP booster to operate from an earlier stage of the evacuation cycle and, in properly configured systems, to start together with the backing pump without waiting for the pre-vacuum normally required by a standard ZJ booster. The ZJP Series provides nominal pumping speeds from 252 to 9,000 m³/h (70–2,500 L/s) for a wide range of industrial vacuum systems.
Working Principle
The ZJP Series uses the same non-contact Roots pumping principle as the standard ZJ Series, with an integrated bypass valve connecting the discharge side to the inlet side. When the pressure differential across the booster exceeds the specified bypass setting, the valve opens and allows part of the gas to recirculate from the discharge side to the inlet side, limiting the pressure differential and protecting the pump from overload. As the backing pump reduces the system pressure and the pressure differential falls, the bypass valve progressively closes, allowing the ZJP booster to provide its full pumping capacity.
Key Features
Pumping speeds are nominal values at 50 Hz. 1 L/s = 3.6 m³/h.
Bypass Valve ΔP: Differential pressure at which the integrated bypass valve operates to limit excessive pressure differential across the Roots booster.
*Ultimate pressure depends on the backing pump, vacuum-system configuration and operating conditions. ZJP Series Roots vacuum boosters are designed to operate with a suitable backing pump.
